Before submitting your application to become a member of editorr’s On Demand Editing Team, we wanted to offer you an overview of how it works and what it is like to be an editor for editorr. At this point, you probably know that editorr is an on demand proofreading and editing service that pairs registered users with screened and qualified human editors.
We have editors stationed all over the globe, enabling us to offer our services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. editorr is both a mobile application and website, allowing our editors to perform their editorial services on the go!
As you may (or may not) know, our service is not a subscription. Instead, users purchase “word packages,” depending on their projected needs. The bigger the word package (the more words they purchase), the cheaper their cost is “per word.” Our largest package is our Platinum Package, currently priced at $499 for 25,000. This breaks down to about 2¢ per word. Our smallest package, our Bronze Package, is currently priced at $5 for 150 words (more than 3¢ per word).
With respect to compensation, please be aware that our editors are paid “per job,” not on an hourly basis. Our editors are compensated 1¢ for each word submitted by a user. For example, a job that is 392 words in length would pay the editor $3.92. If a submitted job is fewer than 100 words, the editor who picks up that job will earn a flat rate of $1.00. In other words, our editors will always earn at least $1.00 for reviewing a job submitted on our live site.
As a reminder, our editors are independent contractors who clock in and out depending on their personal availability and level of interest. Some of our editors treat editorr like a nine-to-five, whereas others choose to log in during the evening, or only on occasion. Because editorr typically receives 100+ jobs each and every day, it is certainly possible to accept and edit dozens of jobs in a single day. That said, editorr should be treated as supplemental income, rather than one’s primary source of income. Still, the more you clock in, the more jobs you will have access to!
